ABOUT TRAVERSE CITY, MICHIGAN
Traverse City is a hidden gem in northwestern Michigan. It has been a special seasonal home for many members of the Strand family for over 10 years. We look forward to coming here each year to make new memories.
This is a land of lakes, forests and beaches--the surrounding bay and Lake Michigan views offer expansive, crystal clear water. Enjoy seasonal outdoor activities, such as kayaking, hiking, swimming, fishing and cross country skiing. Head out of town to the beautiful northern Michigan countryside, where the roads are lined with cherry orchards and vineyards.
The downtown area is bustling with trendy restaurants, ice cream shops, lake gear stores, and boutiques.
The Traverse City area and surrounding peninsula are home to Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. This special spot is less than 30 miles from Traverse City limits. A few years back, Good Morning America named Sleeping Bear Dunes the “Most Beautiful Place in America.”

THINGS TO DO
Here are some of our favorite things to do in and around the Traverse City area:
Old Mission Peninsula
This peninsula just outside of town is dotted with orchards, vineyards, old farm houses, and fabulous views of Lake Michigan. Drive along Peninsula Dr. for beautiful waterfront homes and scenery.
Brys Estate Vineyard and Winery
Traverse City
The Village at Grand Traverse Commons
Grand Traverse Bay
Leelanau Peninsula
Michigan’s Leelanau Peninsula extends northward into Lake Michigan with the main lake on one side and Grand Traverse Bay on the other side. Only 5 to 7 miles wide, the peninsula has the feel of an island -- there’s water everywhere you turn, including several lakes at the center of the peninsula. Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore is one of the Leelanau Peninsula’s most popular attractions.
